#41 작가의 부재

사진을 잘 담는 사람은 많다. 그 많은 사람들 가운데 작가라 말할 수 있는 사람은 극히 드믈다.
이유는 철학적 지식과 사고를 기반으로 철저한 자기 암시의 냉철한 사진 작업을 하는 사람이 드물기 때문이다.
다시 말해 작품사진과 일반사진의 차이는 그 이미지 속에 들어 있는 작가의 철학과 이야기의 존재여부에 달려있는 것이다. 

There are a number of good photographers; there are few who deserve the title of 'artist'.

The photographer as an artist should be level-headed enough to distance himself from the outside world based on his philosophy

including the knowledge he has acquired and his own way of thinking.

Difference between just 'good' and 'artistic' photography consists in whether it reflects the photographer's philosophy in proper manner or not.
